I love it when I get to spend a weekend away for a wedding. It feels like a mini break, despite the only objective of the journey being for work. Work! It still feels strange to call this job work, when it feels so very far removed from it most of the time. Johnny and Fliss’ Beckingham wedding day was a perfect example of it. I just spent my weekend in the company of absolutely wonderful energies, a bunch of people having a ball, and I get to call that my job. It’s marvellous, and I hope I never grow to take advantage of the privilege.
For this particular wedding, I travelled not too far north, on the cusp of South Yorkshire, and watched these two shiny happy faces say ‘I do’ in a quaint church ceremony, followed by a raucous good garden party afterwards. Any wedding that involves a brass band is always going to be good in my books, and the boys from Bangers and Brass didn’t disappoint. They surprised the couple on the exit from their ceremony and followed them and their guests back to the marquee. It was like a street parade!
Anyway, enough of my chatter. You’re far better off just seeing it for yourselves.
