Yesterday was gorgeous. Natalya & Ashton had the most chilled, sun soaked wedding at @upthorpewood surrounded by their (very talented) loved ones, some of whom displayed their adoration for the couple by performing during the drinks reception. It was to be expected given these two and their theatrical backgrounds. The kindness and joy emanated from these two, who I’d heard described multiple times as a “perfect” pair, and I’d have to agree ❤️

Hola chicas & chicos 🤙 those of you who’ve been hanging around here for a while will know I love a good about me post, and now I’m halfway through the season already (wtf) I figured it was a good time to welcome a tonne of lovely shiny new faces to my gram.

I’m G 🌸 and I’m 27 years young & never the wiser for it. I’ve been in this wedding game since I was 20, which feels like an entire lifetime ago now. Since then, I’ve photographed around 200 weddings and delivered in excess of 200,000 images to my couples 🤯

I love what I do to a sickening extent at times. Nothing is more contagious than happiness, and weddings are some of the happiest of days around, so how can you not be over the moon doing “a job” like this? 🌙

Besides photographing beautiful places & people - and downright hilarious moments at times - my second biggest passions are music and films. I’m always watching or listening to something, from the Streets to New Order, and a bit of Britney in between. If I had to pick only just one movie to watch for the rest of my life, it would probably be Inglorious Basterds 🍿 🎥

My favourite time of year would be the ‘ber’ months, where you get to enjoy Halloween, bonfire night, my birthday 🎉 and Christmas all at once. I specifically save the pleasure of scary movies until October so I can fully embrace it. That, and the film Labyrinth with David Bowie 🧝‍♂️

My other most basic girl traits are an obsession with coffee, owning too many lipsticks, and too easily being able to quote Friends. I believe every woman needs to watch SATC in her early 20s. If you come over to our place, there’ll always be fridge leftovers for you to tuck in to. And if you don’t already, you need to live your life by the Baz Lurhmann song “Everybody’s Free to Wear Sunscreen” cos it’s still to this day some of the best advice I’ve ever digested.

A weekend to remember 🇫🇷

The wedding of Ashley & Scott was a scorcher, both figuratively and literally. Every one was beautiful, every thing was beautiful! And it all just flew by that bit too quickly.

I have a lot of gratitude in my heart right now to a lot of people; most significantly to Marion and the team that made everything so seamless on the day. I couldn’t have asked for a better introduction to the world of destination weddings. It’s been 7 years in the making for an opportunity like this. The idea of hopping on a plane with all of my camera gear in tow once terrified me. So not only was a career goal achieved, but a fear was overcome.

And now I’m left feeling on a total high. Like the world is a good place. This dream job of mine is good. People are good. Life is good. I’m beaming from ear to ear & my soul feels fed! Bring on the next one baby, I’ve got this ✈️

These guys could write the book on surviving all day rain at your wedding. I’m so proud & so happy for them that they managed to enjoy their day to the fullest, and it definitely gave me some insights for the future. The biggest takeaways of all? ☔️

Get out when you can. The rain isn’t always going to be makeup wrecking or hair flattening. Pick your moments to do a couple of minutes of photos here and there, and really make the most of it.

A muddy hem tells the story of your day. Don’t stress over it - after all, it’s what dry cleaners are for.

Finally, you can’t let it break your spirit. Luckily, Katie & Rob and all of their guests had that party attitude in plenty, nothing was gonna dampen their shines.

All weather puns aside, they really did well to pull it off. Katie’s fab taste meant the barn looked absolutely stunning (white florals are the future!) and their wicked team of suppliers put in an incredible graft. Well done every one that partied hard, and even harder, and most of all to K&R. A cracker 🎉
