Josey & Chris | DIY Wedding

What’s to love about this cool, relaxed September city / village wedding? I’ll tell you exactly what in about 30 seconds, but first, I want to take a moment to say what rad people Josey and Chris turned out to be. I first met them on Boxing Day 2017 for their engagement session, and from the get-go we just got on. Before they continued their intimate, DIY day at Rattlesden Pavillion, they held a really beautiful, unconvential ceremony at the Athenaeum in Bury St Edmunds. They walked down the aisle together; which was just magic. They also had the American tradition of a first look, before the ceremony. They needed each other to lean on, and they broke the mould and did what they wanted to do to make their day more special. Total respect!

And now for all the other reasons to love this wedding…

A: Colour. There is so much colour.
From smoke bombs to confetti canons to DIY paper decorations. If colour is your thing, you’re gonna have a ball with this one.

B: Smiles. Every one is smiling!
It’s not every day I get to photograph a wedding as homegrown and intimate as this one, and the proof is in the pudding that these people were just ruddy nice.

C: Affordable inspo.
For Brides and Grooms to be, take notes. These two managed to pull off an absolutely stunning day with limited funds, and they did it in a hell of a lot of style!

So, here you go. Have a gander through this little pocket rocket of a wedding.
