I felt a big responsibility in my hands with a venue like Holkham Hall. A landmark in Norfolk and a hugely popular wedding venue, this place has always been on my ‘to shoot’ list for as long as I can remember. So, when Luke & Lisa – whose proposal I captured after lockdown – got in touch to book me, I couldn’t believe my luck. A lot of this is down to their planner, Emily Andrew, who gave them my name, and for that I owe this gorgeous lady an awful lot! I loved everything about this day, even the gale force winds.
Lisa & Luke held their ceremony at St Withburga Church, which is the church on the grounds of the Holkham estate, and followed this with their drinks reception and formal photos in the jaw droppingly beautiful marble hall. That place has to be seen with your own eyes to do it the justice it deserves. And as if the setting wasn’t enough, we were blessed with the first golden light of my season.
These two were patient, kind, fun and funny, and I couldn’t have asked for a more enjoyable couple to capture. I hope this is not only the first of many Holkham weddings in the future, but the first of many couples just like Luke & Lisa for the forseeable.
