When I first got Lucy & Tom’s wedding enquiry in my inbox, it was the start of 2020 and we were only just touching the surface of what the pandemic would bring us. We joked, hopefully the wedding would be good to go ahead in October. Only, neither of us saw the restrictions that followed coming, and the original plan for a big Voewood wedding had to be reconsidered. But, nothing really phased this tenacious couple and they proceeded on their original date, sticking to the 15 person restriction and with a change of venue too. They’d moved their reception to No.Twenty9 in Burnham Market, a gorgeous little village in North Norfolk, and managed to make it feel as normal a wedding as I’m sure it’s possible. You’d look around, and you wouldn’t remember all the sadness that this year has brought us. You’d look around and you’d be reassured, this is exactly why weddings should be implored and encouraged right now. We deserve a bloody good time. We deserve to celebrate the love that has never ceased to exist, even during the darkest months. Well, Lucy & Tom did just that. They celebrated their love, and they gave me a day in 2020 that felt completely and totally normal. I’ll always be grateful for that.
