I absolutely adore living and working within Norfolk. We have some truly mesmerising landscapes built in to our soils. However, it’s just as nice to venture outside Nelson’s County now and again. This weekend I did so for Niamh & Kieran, whom after a day well spent with them, just so happen to have possibly become two of my favourite people ever.
I really did belly laugh a lot with these guys. I’m talking, ab-crunching, cheek-aching, howling laughter. From the moment I arrived and couldn’t reverse park my car in to a wide open space, we were giggling. Their company alone would’ve made the 200 mile round trip very, very worth it. However, not only did they welcome me to their home town of Stamford with open arms, but they took me to their favourite spit n’ sawdust pub for (literally) the best roast I’ve ever had. We started on a high.
A couple of hours in to the wedding talk and the roast-demolishing, we finally kicked off their engagement session. Their (fab) idea was to capture them playing a game of pool, followed by a walk through the limestone and cobble streets. If you don’t know the town of Stamford, it’s well worth a quick Google. It’s really rather gorgeous. As a little girl, my Mother used to collect these model houses called Lilliput Lanes. Each and every building reminded me of those little collectable houses. Ever so picturesque.
A mere 5 hours later, having gotten caught up in their stories (these two are good story tellers), we called an end to the shoot and I headed home. By the time I got through the door and was reunited with my boyf, I was beaming. I’d had the best day with two utterly fabulous human beings. And now, every time I think about their wedding day at the Fire Pit Camp in August, I get excited butterflies fluttering around in my tummy. Expect a lot of colour & personality when that one hits the blog!
This, guys, is what I do these shoots for! Enjoy some of my faves…
