Honestly, where do I even begin? It feels slightly ambitious to try and articulate just how special the 2024 wedding season was for me, both as a photographer, and simply as a human being. Alas, I’ll give it a go anyway.
This year, across more than 40 weddings both big and small, I’ve witnessed a lot of mayhem and a lot of beauty. I hitched a couple of flights, one to Ljubljana and another to Lake Como. I briefly fell in love with people, again and again and again, and made some friends for life. And of course, as always, I had the privilege of embracing the lives of couples and their loved ones, if only for a short while, and learning so much about these people that I always hate to eventually have to say goodbye to.
“It’s a long work day for you, isn’t it?”
That’s the most common phrase that guests will open with when they speak to me. No matter how often it’s said, I still stop and think about it. I find myself agreeing, yes, it’s a long day. But work. I’m not sure I can keep getting away with calling it work. Being involved so intimately in one of the most monumental days of someone’s life, is nothing short of a privelege. And whilst I often never get to see these faces again, I can only be further grateful that, if I can’t always know these people and watch how they grow in the future, they’ll at least always have these photos I’ve taken, however silly some of them are. And maybe their kids will ask them one day about the person that took them, and they’ll think back fondly on that very fleeting human connection we shared.
So, sure, a long day followed by many weeks of editing. But it’s a small price to pay to document the full plethora of human existence, such as this. What a mighty fine year you’ve been, ’24. Here’s to you.

What a classy, chaotic, cutesy bunch you all were. Stay tuned for a mega 2025.
